About

I'm Lauren, a Colorado-based watercolor and mixed media artist inspired by the beauty, color, joy, and wonder of the natural world.

I was born and raised in Colorado, spending much of my childhood outdoors. When I wasn't outside, you could usually find me coloring, painting, or drawing, or crafting for hours. From the very beginning, my artwork was inspired by nature—flowers, butterflies, ladybugs, and anything colorful, lively, and vibrant.

My grandparents were avid gardeners and nature enthusiasts. A visit to their homes often began with a garden tour, where I learned to appreciate the intricate beauty of flowers, plants, and the natural world. Those early experiences, along with many hours spent exploring Colorado's mountains and wildflowers, nurtured a lifelong love of nature that continues to inspire every painting I create.

 

My grandmother, Alice, for whom I was named, shared a special love for flowers and gardens. She visited me in Colorado twice each year, and every visit included long walks through botanical gardens, afternoons spent exploring art museums, and nights spent crafting. Together, we also made regular trips to visit family in Taos, New Mexico, a place rich with color, creativity, and artistic inspiration that planted the seeds of my own creative journey.​

Today, I create artwork inspired by the flowers, butterflies, and natural beauty that have captivated me since childhood. Most of my paintings start with a hike in Colorado's Rocky Mountains. 

 

Through my work, I hope to share the peace, joy, wonder, and sense of connection that nature brings. Each piece is my way of capturing the fleeting moments of beauty found in the natural world, and my hope is that it brings a wholesome sense of peace, connection, and joy into your life.
